About Chef Jackie
My name is Jacqueline Cox and I am very passionate about cooking my cultural food. It is a skill I learned from my mom, aunts, and great grandmother. The people in our community always call on them to cook for their weddings, birthday parties, church celebrations, and other events. My love for cooking lead me to pursue my high school major in Hotel Management and Hospitality. In high school, I learned the principles and the method of cooking and how to cook all different types of food from around the world. After high school, I worked in the family business before I went off to college. After college, I worked as a daycare provider. I incorporated basic healthy food with the supervision of an adult. This lesson helps to empower the students and their parents to make delicious affordable meals. I also started a Community Outreach Soup Kitchen Program to feed the homeless on the weekend. Feeding hungry and homeless adults gives me a sense of purpose and empowers me to continue providing healthy food.
I created Jackie’s Jamaican Caribbean Cuisine so it could help financially support the Community Outreach Soup Kitchen. This authentic Caribbean business caters to all occasions. We provide great home cooked comfort food that gives everyone a tropical experience. I enjoy spending time cooking a great meal for family and friends during game nights, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I love watching the smiles on my friends, children’s, and grandchildren’s faces whenever they come over for dinner.
